Code of Clinical Conduct & Ethics
This Code of Conduct outlines the ethical responsibilities and clinical expectations for all registered physiotherapy practitioners under BPMA.
1. Patient Care & Safety
- Primary Duty: Place the health, recovery, and safety of patients above all other interests.
- Competence: Provide services within your scope of qualifications and professional training.
- Consent: Obtain informed, voluntary consent from patients before commencing any intervention.
2. Professional Integrity
- Honesty: Maintain absolute honesty in representing qualifications, skills, fees, and therapeutic outcomes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed, confidential, and accurate patient progress records.
- No Misrepresentation: Clearly identify as a Physiotherapist (PT) and avoid claims of statutory regulatory authority unless possessing government registration.
